Isolo, Lagos
Weds. 26th Nov. ‘25
The Olasoju Adebayo-led administration of Isolo Local Council Development Area (LCDA) has held its extensive budget deliberations ahead of the upcoming 2026 fiscal year.
The budgetary retreat tagged ‘Budget of Improved Development,’ was held in Abeokuta, the Ogun State Capital.
Olasoju, while declaring the program open, announced that in the upcoming year, the council hopes to build on its gains across all sectors, especially in infrastructure development, health, human capital development, environment, education, and, of course, the security of lives and properties.
The council boss appreciated the management staff for their commitment to his #IsoloOfOurDreams agenda in the outgoing year. While maintaining that the mantra has translated into impactful development across all sectors of governance, Olasoju emphasized that their concerted efforts remain crucial to achieving more in the upcoming fiscal year beginning with their selfless and actionable inputs into the proposed budget and deliberations.
“This year’s retreat is yet another testament to our administration’s commitment to proactive preparation aimed at meeting the developmental needs of our people. These annual boardroom deliberations have formed one of the bases for the meaningful and impactful development we’ve carried out to better the lives of our people and it’s my conviction that this year’s edition will not be an exception,” Olasoju remarked.
Speaking further, the council boss acknowledged the various build-ups to the event such as the budget consultative stakeholders’ meeting held on the council premises earlier in the month to get other stakeholders’ input as he commended the various heads of departments for ensuring that the stakeholders’ input formed the basis of the formulated budgetary bill.
The event proceeded with a thorough review of the budgetary performance of the outgoing year and the various programs undertaken. Olasoju appreciated the council management staff for their diligent service in the year 2025 which he said has been one of the factors for his administration’s high-flying performance. He went on to urge them to sustain the momentum stressing that the reward of hard work is more work.
The council mayor admonished the council workers against sharp practices especially in the area of Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) drive as he urged the staff to uphold the ethics of the service and remain upright.
Olasoju passionately appealed for the continued cooperation of the management staff to ensure that his itching desire to put in place more legacy projects in the upcoming year is actualised. Also, part of the issues discussed bordered around procurement, formulation of relevant bylaws by the legislative arm to give legal backing to some possible review of the existing bylaws among others.
On their part, the council Manager, Mr. Mojisola Ogabi, and the Leader of Isolo Legislative Arm, Hon. Yusuf Oni commended the council boss for his unwavering commitment to driving all-round development in Isolo as they pledged the support of the management staff and the legislative arm to his continued success.
As a break from the rigorous deliberations, the council boss led the team on a tour of the ancient Olumo Rock where they pleasurably explored the 137-meter-high natural monument. Others who joined the council officials for the retreat included the leadership of Isolo Community Development Council (CDC).
