OLASOJU CONDEMNS CULTISM RESURGENCE IN ISOLO, ASSURES OF EFFECTIVE ACTION AGAINST MENACE

The Executive Chairman of Isolo LCDA, Olasoju Adebayo, has in strong terms condemned the resurgence of cult activities in the council area, assuring residents that the menace will be effectively and sustainably nipped in the bud.

Olasoju’s assurance was contained in a press statement issued by his media office on Sunday morning in reaction to the gruesome murder of a suspected cultist, simply identified as Adeola, on Friday night.

It was gathered that Adeola, better known as ‘Abaran Esu’, was a member of the Aiye cult group and was reportedly killed on Kogberegbe Street by members of a rival cult group, the Eiye confraternity.

Reacting to the disturbing images from the crime scene, Olasoju described the dastardly act as barbaric, unacceptable, and a threat to the peace and safety that residents of Isolo have long enjoyed. He stressed that criminal elements and cult groups would not be allowed to disrupt and truncate the peace and tranquility in the council area.

While commending men of the Nigerian Police Force and other security agencies for swiftly moving into action upon being alerted by the incident, the council boss disclosed that he had ordered swift investigation into the event and the arrest of all those connected to the crime.

Olasoju reiterated the commitment of his administration to strengthening collaboration with security agencies and community stakeholders to rid Isolo of cultism and other forms of criminality.

He further warned youths against allowing themselves to be lured into cult-related activities, noting that such associations only lead to violence, loss of lives, and wasted futures.

The council boss therefore called on residents to remain calm, law-abiding, and vigilant, while urging them to promptly report suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities asassuring that he will not spare any efforts in safeguarding lives and property across Isolo LCDA.
