OSHODI-ISOLO II HoR SEAT: OLASOJU RECEIVES BAMIGBETAN ON CONSULTATIVE VISIT
Isolo, Lagos
Sun. 3rd May ‘26
The Chief Administrative Officer of Isolo LCDA, Olasoju Adebayo, has once again, reiterated his position as a man for all aspirants vying for one seat or the other under the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oshodi-Isolo Constituency II ahead of the party’s primaries.
He made this known when he received in audience one of the leading aspirants in the race for the party’s ticket for Oshodi-Isolo Constituency II House of Representatives Seat, Hon. Kehinde Bamigbetan who had come on a political consultative visit.
Hosting the reputable journalist and veteran politician at the council’s conference hall, Olasoju, who was joined by the esteemed members of the executive committee and the councillors, described the HoR seat hopeful as a prominent political figure, adding that his enduring legacy when he was in the saddle of Ejigbo LCDA speaks for him. The council honcho asserted that Bamigbetan’s name is synonymous with development having redefined effective leadership in his previous office. He referenced that; “When he was chairman, he opened Ejigbo to Idimu Express. Tell me what I don't know about him? When he was chairman, pupils in public primary schools in Ejigbo had lunch daily, ward chairmen had cars but the truth is he was only fulfilling all righteousness.”
Commenting on Bamigbetan’s HoR ambition, Olasoju exemplified his political role in the unfolding political dispensation to a General Operations Officer who's answerable to a Managing Director as he reaffirmed his belief in the party’s leadership to make the right and best choice among the handful of aspirants jostling for the party’s ticket stressing that the ultimate goal is to see the party reclaim the seat, achieve resounding victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other flagbearers and, by so doing, firmly re-position APC as the most viable party in Oshodi-Isolo LGA.
Making himself an example, Olasoju referenced the appointment of one of his fiercest detractors in the build-up to the 2021 local government elections, Sheriff Adebare into his cabinet as the height of magnanimity which should emulated by all in victory as he called for a renewed belief in the party’s ideals from whoever clinches the party’s ticket among contenders while declaring his support for Bamigbetan should he get the party’s nod to be its flagbearer. A pledge he'd made to other aspirants such as Dr. Rasheed Alausa; the immediate past chairman of Ejigbo LCDA, Hon. Monsuru Oloyede Bello, and Mrs. Angela Yinka Akintunde daughter of the pioneer chairman of Isolo LCDA; Mr. Modupeola Oseghale, and an act that reaffirms his unbiased standpoint.
He emphasized that politics is like a pendulum that swings adding that regardless of whatever position politicians find themselves in, they should remain steadfastly committed to the principles of the party and its reward system.
“If I can become a chairman, anybody can become whatever they so desire. I used to say it, if you're looking for God’s grace; this is me. People will say he used to operate a video club, yes! I did. He has a gaming centre, yes! I did. All along, I carry this dream in me and I remained true to myself, sticking to the ideals of our party because of course, my mum doesn't believe in shortcuts and I hold on to that belief. APC is for all of us,” the council boss stressed.
Beginning his remark with a unity-themed song, Bamigbetan explained that his aspiration for the seat is anchored on unity and in addition to his core job of making laws, carrying out oversight function, and attracting constituency projects, he will be one of President Bola Tinubu’s footsoldiers in bringing reality upon his (Tinubu’s) all-encompasing Renwed Hope Agenda.
“What are my jobs? Just as you've identified it, it is to make laws, provide oversight functions and attract constituency projects and most importantly be there to serve the interest of the president and commander-in-chief of armed forces, President Bola Tinubu. The Renewed Hope transformation program cannot work if President Tinubu’s men in the National Assembly are not doing the job and as somebody who has been his Chief Press Secretary, who has been his spokesperson, who has been his strategist, I have the capacity to identify where he is coming from and what he wants to achieve. I am going to be one of his foot soldiers to ensure that the Renewed Hope transformation program comes to full fruition,” KOK said.
Addressing Olasoju as his friend, brother, comrade, leader of government business, a man of justice, fairness, and a man of history, the former Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy sought the Isolo numero Uno’s emotional and political support for his aspiration assuring that as a democrat he will advance national development through effective legislation.
Curtains were drawn on the historical visit with photo sessions, moments after the council mayor graciously signed Bamigbetan’s nomination form just as the councillors and exco members' followed suit.
