RAMADAN: OLASOJU HOLDS COLOURFUL ANNUAL RAMADAN LECTURE
Isolo, Lagos
Sat. 28th Feb. '26
It was a moment of sober reflection on Friday as a renowned Islamic cleric and guest Lecturer at this year's Annual Public Ramadan Lecture of Isolo LCDA, Sheik Abdul Raheem Alli drew references from the Holy Qur'an and Hadith to drive home his point that the purpose of living is to do Allah's bidding.
Doing justice to the topic “Purpose of Life”, Sheikh Alli emphasised that human existence is never by chance but divinely scripted, stressing that our existence is ultimately to worship God in truth and spirit, as well as to advance humanity.
Impressing it on his audience which included council officials, the leadership of NULGE Unified Muslims, the illustrious ambassador of Daru - Dawat Wal - Irshad Arabic School emphasised that reverence of Almighty Allah at all times should be man's guiding principle as long as he lives irrespective of our social or political status or even situation, adding that acknowledgement of Allah’s omnipotence by way of prayer and submissiveness can turn around a misfortune.
He employed an 8-yearly lifecycle chart which makes a man's 40th year his pinnacle while asserting that matrimonial bliss occasioned by a wife's submissiveness often rubs off on the children with reference to the council boss as a typical example of such a child whose mother paid the price for his breakthrough to the father.
Earlier, while welcoming the large assembly of religious enthusiasts, Olasoju charged them to endeavour to live with the purity imbibed during the Holy Month of Ramadan in their post-ramadan lives as he besieged the scholarly hightable to pray for President Tinubu's victory come 2027 and sustainable growth of Lagos state as well as Isolo LCDA.
Meanwhile, in his opening prayer/remarks, the Grand Chief Imam of Isolo, Alh. Sheik Imam Qasim Abayomi Hassan Ajiyan showered encomiums on the council boss for his uncommon fair disposition towards Islam saying his christening of Olasoju as 'Abdul Qudus' has been justified.
Highpoint of the annual event included special prayers by the group of clerics for President Tinubu’s continued success at the saddle and his resounding victory at the 16th January 2027 presidential election as well as for prosperity in Nigeria, Lagos, and Isolo LCDA, as humbly requested by Olasoju as curtains were drawn on it with a vote of thanks/closing prayer by the Ameer, NULGE Unified Muslims, Isolo chapter, Uztaz Rufai Ibrahim.
