WORK HARDER FOR APC, EXPECT REWARDS - OLASOJU TELLS NON-YORUBA SPEAKING
Isolo, Lagos
Tues. 5th May, '26
The Executive Chairman of Isolo LCDA, Olasoju Adebayo, has assured the non-Yoruba-speaking community of the council area of commensurate rewards should APC's anticipated victory and table-turning performance in the coming 2027 elections be attributable to their hard work.
Olasoju who was represented by the Secretary to the Local Government (SLG), Hon. Musbau Quadr gave the assurance at a massively attended non-indigenous stakeholders' meeting convened by his Special Adviser on Ethnicity, Hon. Mrs. Onyinechi Ojeikwe at Ajao Estate, Lagos over the weekend.
In her welcome address, convener and host, Mrs. Ojeikwe appreciated her guests, who cut across ethic nations like South-South, South-East, Nupe, Arewa etc for making time to attend the meeting. She stated that her reason for convening the meeting was to drum support for her party - APC particularly in Isolo LCDA saying "I come before you all this afternoon as your daughter, friend, wife, and representative in the administration of Hon. Bayo Olasoju to share with you the 'Renewed Hope' message of President Bola Tinubu. I address you with a profound sense of duty to embrace the economic rebirth being midwifed by my party, the APC, led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. This is a clarion call I expect you to conscientiously heed so that history will be kind to you and me for being patriotic when it mattered most".
In his keynote speech, the Seriki Hausa community of Ajao Estate, appreciated the administration of Olasoju Adebayo for thinking it fit to appoint someone from Ajao Estate into his cabinet. Seriki boasted that Ajao Estate has produced leaders like the late Chief Martins Ayoade Adegboyega - first executive Chairman of Osh/Isolo LGA, Chief Mrs. Mary Modupe Oseghale - Pioneer chairperson of Isolo LCDA, and Late Alh. Kolesosho etc deserves to have its fair share in appointive positions of government. He, however, made a case for a Hausa man to be considered for Ajao Estate councillorship in the near future.
Speaking on behalf of their respective group, the trio of Mrs. Seidu Bawa, Raphael Bassey and Ama Amefuna leading the Nupe, South-South, and Ajao Estate Igbo Communities assured the host of their readiness to mobilize and deliver Isolo for the APC. They however pleaded for commensurate rewards when their efforts come to fruition.
On his part, the Chairman of Isolo Community Development Committee (CDC), Hon. Segun Olatunde commended Mrs. Ojeikwe for convening such a meeting as he leveraged the platform to charge residents voting in Mafoluku to move their Permanent Voters’ Card to units on Ajao Estate, and he charged all residents to politically contribute to the community’s growth. While pleading with the Hausa Community to rededicate themselves to APC, Olatunde encouraged the Yoruba community to remain accommodating stressing that all hands must be on deck to advance Ajao Estate political cause.
Giving his goodwill remarks, the immediate past deputy leader of Isolo legislative arm, Hon. Kanayo Osondu lauded Mrs. Ojiekwe for justifying her appointment just as he urged her to consolidate and intensify her mobilization drive. This path was toed by the host’s spouse, Chief Isreal Ojeikwe who went further to commend the council chairman, Olasoju, for being a detribalised leader. He assured that APC will win in Ajao Estate ‘from top to bottom.’
Olasoju thumbed up Mrs. Ojiekwe for advancing his inclusivity goal and also for the massive attendance of various ethnic leaders at the meeting as he assured the party’s reward system has been made better while noting that the era of alleged ‘use and dump’ is over. He charged all the ethnic leaders to remain steadfast in their commitment to the party’s ideals and work tirelessly for its success in the fast-approaching elections.
The event was rounded off with a vote of thanks from erstwhile councilor, Hon. Leo Chioma while Pastor Onyeze gave the closing prayers.
