The premises of Isolo LCDA Headquarters on Osolo way was a beehive of merriments on Thursday as the adherents of Christian faith under the aegis of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Isolo LCDA Chapter and their Muslim counterparts mixed freely, interacted and jollified in a fast-breaking banquet at the instance of the council chairman, Olasoju Adebayo.


Led by the CAN Chairman, Rev. S.K. Adebayo, the Christian brethren drawn from all the federating denominations including the Council Chapel thronged council in their numbers and wasted no time to settle down for the day's proceedings.


In his opening remarks, the council boss, Olasoju Adebayo preached love for one another, our nation saying where there's love hurting ourselves becomes difficult as he drew references from the Holy Bible to drive home his point. He specially thanked the CAN Chairman, Rev. S.K. Adebayo for being a fan of his administration while promising to continue holding the body (CAN) in the highest esteem.


In his own remarks, council manager, Mr. Rasheed Bada Bawa maintained that the clash in the commencement of Ramadan and Lenten season this year should deepen tolerance between Muslims and Christians emphasizing that the rare coincidence of the fasting period for both faiths lends credence to the fact that we serve the same God as he emphasized on unity among all. 


The foremost council staff went on to emphasize the council chairman’s message of love amongst one another and responsible citizenship from all while extending the charge to fellow civil servants.  


On his part, the CAN Coordinator, Rev. S.K. Adebayo commended the council boss for the remarkable gesture as he hailed him for embodying love and promoting religious tolerance in Isolo. The renowned clergyman went further by  commending  Olasoju’s administration noting the council boss' further deepening of the  federal government's Renewed Hope Agenda in the council area by way of his far-reaching developmental strides. 


He reaffirmed the consistent support of the Christian body for Olasoju’s administration and the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led federal government via  continuous spiritual support. 


Before the special interfaith breaking of fast, spirited prayers were successively led by the various clergymen at the behest of the council chairman for President Tinubu, Lagos State Government and the executive, legislative and entire workforce of Isolo LCDA as well as the teeming residents. 


Notable among other council officials in attendance were the vice chairman; Hon. Shakir Sadiq, the leader and majority leader of the legislative arm, Hon. Oni Yusuf and Hon. Nofisat Shobayo-Lawal as well as the Coordinator of Isolo Brethren Fellowship, Mrs. Abosede Adegun among others.
